Local people say that Ishqiya Ganesh Temple in Jodhpur was established about a hundred years ago. This temple named Guru Ganapati was established outside a house in a narrow street of the city. Its construction is such that a person standing here cannot be easily seen from a distance. This was the reason why lovers used to come here secretly for their first meeting. Gradually this temple became the first choice of lovers and boys and girls started coming here to meet. On coming here, he would have a darshan of Gajanan and wish for marriage. After the marriage, the loving couple comes to express their thanks considering the blessings of God. In this way, this temple became famous by the name of Ishqiya Ganesh Temple from Guru Ganpati.

Lovers’ fair is held on Wednesday: 

A lovers’ fair is held every Wednesday in this temple. Many devotees come here to apply for marriage. Many devotees come to invite them for the wedding and many devotees come to thank them. This temple opens from 5 am to 12 noon and from 5.30 pm to 9 pm. You can have darshan till 11 pm on Wednesday. Special worship is done throughout the day on Ganesh Chaturthi.
